orbitx.utils._matchups.find_matches.find_matches(orbit: Orbit, time_diff_threshold: timedelta64, space_diff_threshold: SupportsFloat, check_before: bool, check_after: bool, has_land_ocean_mask: bool) Dataset[source]#

Finds matchups between each pair of satellites

Provided with the simulated orbit of each satellite (as an Orbit object), will return an xarray Dataset of matchups between the different orbits. The structure of the returned xarray is as follows:

Parameters:
  • orbit (Orbit) – The orbit which to look for matchups in

  • time_diff_threshold (np.timedelta64) – The maximum time difference between to satellites in a matchup that is tolerated

  • space_diff_threshold (Number) – The maximum distance between two satellites in a matchup that is tolerated

  • check_before (bool) – Whether matchup events in which one of the satellites is before the start date should be considered

  • check_after (bool) – Whether matchup events in which one of the satellites is after the end should be considered

  • has_land_ocean_mask (bool) – Whether the land / ocean / coast masks should be generated
